January 26, 2013 – Bring Your Dog to the Market Day
Dress your best friend in their best winter attire and bring them along this Saturday, January 26th. Have your picture taken at the Market with your four-legged furry buddy! Your suggested donation of $5 for the photo will be donated to a local pet rescue. The most photogenic duos will be chosen to win a bag of dog biscuits from Chris Hamilton, founder of Molly & Murphy all natural Irish dog & horse biscuits. Dog walkers will be on hand so dog owners may shop at the market.

PAST EVENTS
December 1, 2012 – The market opens for the season!
The Winter Farmers Market at Norfield Grange opens for the season with some new vendors and familiar faces. You will remember seeing Daffodil Hill Growers, Gazy Brothers Farm, Pemaquid Seafood, The Butterfield Farm, and Whistle Stop Bakery from our market last year. Today, they will be joined by Hastings Family Farm, Lady Lily Chocolates, Lulu’s Pies, The Olive Oil Factory, and Whipped Up, as well as several craft vendors. Look for more vendors in the coming weeks!

December 1, 2012 – A petting zoo and pony rides
To celebrate opening day, the Winter Farmers Market at Norfield Grange will host Runabout Farm, with a petting zoo and pony rides for children of all ages. Animals will be at the farmers market this Saturday from 10am until 2pm offering rides, snuggles, and taking pictures with their fans. Kids and adults are invited to stop by, meet the animals, and ask questions about the farm and animal rescue.

December 1, 2012 – Fresh wood-fired pizza
As a bonus for our opening day, we will have a visit from Victoria’s Wood-Fired Pizza! Bruce will be at the market all day, making delicious, fresh pizzas!

December 1, 2012 – Holiday tree raffle
When you make a purchase from any of our vendors, you automatically receive a ticket to enter in our raffle for a beautiful, fresh 6′ to 7′ balsam fir, which has been graciously donated by Weston Gardens. If you would like to purchase additional raffle tickets, they are available for $1 for 3 tickets. On December 15, we will be drawing the winner at the close of the market at 2:00pm.

December 8, 2012 – Air and Water art exhibit
Visit the Winter Farmers Market at Norfield Grange this week and enjoy the beauty of Carole McClintock’s Air and Water art exhibit. Weston artist Carole McClintock will be exhibiting her paintings at the Norfield Grange this week, Thursday, December 6 through Sunday, December 9. Carole paints from an authentic place of tranquility. Her work expresses a sense of peace not easy to find in modern life. Carole’s goal is to inspire thought and stir emotion. She doesn’t disappoint. Feast your eyes and enjoy a few moments of relaxation and pleasure with old and new friends.

December 8, 2012 – Wreath making workshop
Come to the Winter Farmers Market at Norfield Grange and learn to create your own wreath, boxwood tree, and centerpiece using fresh materials for elegant holiday décor from Sara Blersch, owner of Daffodil Hill Growers and a floral designer with over 10 years of experience. Start by using an evergreen base and adding premium greens such as boxwood, white pine, and cedar to create a beautiful holiday look before finishing with a bow and other embellishments to suit your décor and color scheme.

Create a stunning and traditional boxwood tree using boxwood and floral foam. Embellish it to your heart’s content with garland, pinecones, and Christmas balls. The workshop will be held at the Winter Farmers Market at Norfield Grange from 11am to 12pm. $45 per workshop, including material fee. Must register in advance to attend. January 12, 2013 – Mad Hatter’s Tea Party
In honor of National Tea Month, we are hosting a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party from 1 to 2 pm. Ewa Ojarovska, tea sommelier and certified tea etiquette consultant, will host this event. She’ll teach you how to choose, steep and pour the perfect cup of tea, as well as proper tea etiquette. Come and join in the fun! Wear a hat — awards will be given to the “Best Adult Hat” and the “Best Child’s Hat” (under 18). Feel free to bring your favorite teacup along, but don’t worry, there will be extras on hand. Afternoon tea fare will be served.

There is a cost of $5 per person for tea. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited; so call 203-226-8233 or email NorfieldGrange@gmail.com to make a reservation. Loose Leaf Tea Company will provide the tea for the event. Fresh market produce and baked goods will be provided from the market vendors.
